PDH is taken up by a wide variety of professionals. They are Engineers, Land Surveyors, Landscape Architects, Architects and Building Inspectors. Apart from these professionals, others who are engaged in some other profession can also participate on one’s own interest to develop the knowledge, to catch up with the available technology and to enhance the range of professional opportunities.
For Engineers in the United States, the number of required professional development credits and the terminology used to describe professional development vary from state to state. For example, Engineers in Alabama have to take up 15 Professional Development Hours (PDH) annually; whereas in Alaska, they have to take up 24 Professional Development Hours (PDH) biennially. There are also other categories of professionals who have mandatory professional development requirements in the United States.
